Patient, or everyday person, who religiously follows updates in the medical industry and cares about his / her health a little too much. Starting from the little things, like caffeine and stress relief trips to the masseuse, gradually to more more invasive treatments, like pills, shots, and more.
Doctor used to be a small time "therapist / doctor", either a barista or employee at a salon. He / she eventually joins a larger conglomerate hospital to diagnosis and pave the way for more breakthroughs in everyday sicknesses.
How to Show the Story
Showing a transition of years -- shifting paradigms, from the mundane habits and everyday activities to the more extreme. Maybe it's that people aren't sleeping, but don't know why they're so tired and need to get "treated" with a certain amount of coffee. What other types of solutions can there be?
It needs to be presented in a way that helps people see the transition to a hyper diagnostic society. The scenario I will be showing won't be a complete integration of the prescriptive lifestyle, but it will be set in the transitional period.
"Objects" for the Story
Patient Portals + Records
Creating patient portals as a way of documenting the history of diagnosis and types of treatments from the doctors' point of view. Maybe it will be snapshots and status updates, that can cover a longer length of time.
Excerpts from therapy journals to record the patient's point of view of the treatments through another type of "treatment". This could also be shown as a blog post on the website, to "highlight" the wonderful patient experience.
Doctors' + Hospital Websites
Using About pages, to show history, possible news coverage, and the development of the industry or establishment. This will cover most of the possible side shows.
Other Things to Consider
- This lifestyle, or society, needs a name. It might be a type of medical position, similar to pediatrics or anesthesiology.
- Insert more normal "problems" -- don't over focus on one type of problem, like stress, or sleep.
